Treat Yo' Self

Healthy is an art, not a science, and sometimes you just want something sweet. The good news is the health food industry has stepped up its snacks game in the past 5 years, so treating yourself doesn't have to mean completely throwing health out the window. Even at most airports now you don't have to settle for a Snickers or a vending machine.

To be clear, I'm not advocating that you eat these every day, and certainly not multiple items in one day. Every person is different, and it is still important to bear in mind your individual eating patterns, goals, and what you've eaten that day. Some sweets might also be trigger foods, where keeping to the serving size is nearly impossible once you start eating it. In those cases, it would be best to avoid the item, or limit it to a once-in-a-while treat. 

These are some of my favorite go-to snacks right now. There's quite a bit of Trader Joe's action on here because they opened one down the street from my apartment last summer (LIFE-CHANGING) so it's convenient but also amazing. With the exception of Halo Top, all are portable, pack-able, and can be eaten on the go, great for those crazy days with lots of running around.
